APTN is aimed at both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal audiences with programming to interest all viewers: children’s animation, youth, cultural and traditional programming, music, drama, news and current affairs, as well as live coverage of special events and interactive programming. Nearly half of APTN programming is exclusive to APTN and cannot be seen on any other network.

APTN airs more than 80% Canadian content and consistently exceeds its Canadian content requirements. The remaining percentage of the broadcast schedule includes Indigenous programming from around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Central and South America and the U.S.

APTN offers a daily APTN National News program and a weekly investigative news show that provide balanced, accurate and provocative coverage of national issues. APTN National News looks beyond the headlines and offers context and a historical perspective.
