Commitment to Indigenous history and residential schools

The Government of Alberta commits that all Alberta K-12 students will learn about the history and legacy of residential schools, along with the history of First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples of Canada. The curriculum will include enhanced mandatory content for all Alberta students on the significance of residential schools and treaties. Curriculum must include tile diverse perspectives of First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples living in Alberta in relation to historical and contemporary contexts.
