NAIG Council Hall of Honor

NationTalk: The North American Indigenous Games Council, are excited to announce the inaugural North American Indigenous Games Hall of Honour. The Hall of Honour invites all of Turtle Island to celebrates sporting excellence and outstanding achievement on and off the field of play by nominating acclaimed alumni to celebrate for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games Hall of Honour.

The Hall of Honour will recognize exceptional North American Indigenous Games alumni who have sparked greatness by distinguishing themselves during the Games and beyond, while contributing to the growth of the North American Indigenous Games Movement.

Nominees are eligible for induction in one of two categories:

‍Athletes: (3)

The athlete category recognizes past North American Indigenous Games athletes who have achieved significant success in national and/or international competition. Nominees must also have demonstrated support for the North American Indigenous Games through promotional events, community engagement or other meaningful activities. Nominees must be inactive.

‍Builders: (3)

The builder category recognizes past coaches, managers, officials, administrators, volunteers, sponsors or members of the media who have made outstanding efforts and had an immeasurable impact for more than 10 years within the North American Indigenous Games Movement. Nominees may be active or inactive.

‍To nominate an athlete or builder for the 2023 Hall of Honour, please complete the nomination form no later than March 1st, 2023.

The Hall of Honour class of 2023 will be formally inducted during the 2023 North American Indigenous Games in Kjipuktuk (Halifax) next July. For more information on the nomination criteria please click here.
