These investments will help organizations support rehabilitation of individuals who are in conflict with the law by offering support and solutions, build resilience and a sense of dignity among those impacted by harm, and take into consideration the safety of the communities. The 2020 Fall Economic Statement included $49.3 million to support the implementation of Gladue Principles in the mainstream justice system and Indigenous-led responses, in order to help reduce the overrepresentation of Indigenous Peoples in the criminal justice and correctional systems
