First National Inquiry statement to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs on Inquiry progress acknowledges past and current issues and commits to four principles to guide their work:
- We want to empower and support people, not re-victimize them.
- We want to find solutions together and not impose them.
- We want to include those who need to be heard.
- We want to build on the good work already done and not re-invent the wheel.
