The Métis delegation to Rome prepared the Vatican take-away booklet “Truth, Reconciliation, Justice, and Healing: The Métis Experience of Residential Schools” for the Pope on their visit to Rome. The document outlines the Metis experience of residential schools through:

  • Stories
  • Letters
  • Delegate Interviews, and
  • Essays

The document concludes by outlining “the pathway forward alongside some meaningful first steps to which the Métis Nation hopes the Church will commit”. The pathway consists of meaningful steps within:

  • Truth (5)
  • Reconciliation (7)
  • Justice (4)
  • Healing (8)
